Why buy this one?

Three owners since new (current owner local SOA Hon Sec 2012-2024); much loved and well used boat in excellent order. For sale either as boat alone, or complete with engine, trailer and equipment, ready to launch. Would consider joint ownership for 2025 season but increasing age/infirmity forces sale this year.

History/equipment

Owned since 2006. Professional survey prior to purchase (in boat folder). Used regularly (x20-30 per season), stored under cover over winter.

Professionally maintained since purchase, initially by Retreat boatyard (Topsham), more recently by Trouts boatyard (Topsham). Hull sandblasted after purchase to examine possible osmosis. Some minor blisters, not felt worthy of treatment, no progress during current ownership. More significant maintenance/repairs include:

2010: corroded cabin floor ballast ground out, replaced with lead, resurfaced floor (Retreat)
2013: spars stripped and revarnished (Retreat)
2015: stainless stemhead, bowsprit fitting, chainplates, new centreplate (Crabbers, Rock))
2021: hull painted (to match original dark blue), new masthead forestay (Trouts)

Standing rigging not replaced in current ownership, appears sound. All running rigging replaced during current ownership. Centreplate control wire and rudder plate cord replaced every two years.

Sails: tan colour, new in 2021 (Exe sails and covers). Jib foot cut approx 30cm oversize to improve performance and reduce weather helm (very successful); has marker to allow operating at standard size. Old (standard size) sails available.

Outboard: new in 2021: Tohatsu MFS 6hp 4stroke with high thrust/sail drive prop (Ash Marine). Used approx 50 hours or less per year, serviced annually (Ash Marine). Supplied from 25 litre tank in rear locker (removable); fuel line and connectors renewed 2021.

Trailer: original Bramber with piggy-back launching trolley (no trailer launches in current ownership). Trailer serviced professionally 2006, 2015, 2019.

Boat craned out Sept 2024, currently stored in local barn awaiting planned antifouling before possible launch early May 2025.
